    Coming from a Green Tortex…

Posted by Patrick Fiore on 10th Dec 2023

My first BC pick, a rh beveled td-35. Just decided to maximize my pick and came across BC. I’ve been playing both acoustic and electric for over 20 years, and I have a pretty decent ear. The feel was immediately unmatched. Sticky in the hand, smooth and fast over the strings. My pick wear mimicked the BC bevel, so it worked great . Now the tone…this took a bit for me to understand, but when I did, I was soooo excited. My Tortex has 0 harmonics on a single note. Almost sounds like one giant powerful fundamental. At least that’s how it felt compared to the BC. I’m playing a CS strat with slight OD btw (didn’t try with my Martin yet). The BC was so organic…at first I didn’t like it because it didn’t seem as loud as my tortex, but it was, just more rounded with less of that high end brashness (which makes the tortex sound like a generic blanket over a note). My guitar sounds so much more harmonically rich! Anyway, I’m in love. Ordered a round bevel to see how I like that as well! Thanks BC team!

    Great pick!

Posted by Dane on 30th Nov 2023

I’m impressed with the tone I get. Easy to flat pick as well as light strum. I’ve used a Blue Chip with my mando for a couple years and decided to try this one for my 6 string, I love it. Also, I’m hard on picks and these really last. Highly recommend them. Worth the money.

    Great Pick

Posted by TQ on 1st Nov 2023

I bought this BlueChip pick because I'd heard over the years they were wonderful. I was not disappointed. This pick really does glide through the strings with the greatest of ease. I have mostly used it with my acoustic guitars, but I'm sure it'll get some use on my electrics soon. These picks are great. This won't be my last BlueChip pick.

    bullet proof

Posted by john bollack on 24th Oct 2023

I’m exceptionally hard on picks. A typical cellulose pick (351 medium) would last one jam, maybe two). My last Blue Chip TD35 survived two years of three jams a week with only minor tip wear. On top of the durability, Blue Chip picks are smooth as silk and faster than I am.. ???

    I don’t get it?

Posted by Richard on 7th Oct 2023

Same review as my review of the TAD40 (too expensive, average pick, etc. Easy review to find as it’s one of only two with less than 4 stars)) but I forgot one point. From reviews I had seen prior to buying these picks I thought they would be a good pick for grip, as others had stated. This was one of the selling points for me. Nope! Just as slippery as any other smooth pick. They need some ridges on them. They move around in my grip like any smooth pick. And they need to drop the price to about $4. It amazes me that there are hundreds of 5 star reviews.

Too thick, too much pick noise for acoustic light strumming

    Posted by E on 31st Aug 2023

I perform for a living, have tried many picks and settled on Fender medium 451 celluloid for balanced tone with minimal pick noise on acoustic & electric (I change guitars often in my show). They're not durable so I'm seeking alternatives. I tried BC ten years ago and came back recently to try this pick because it's the thinnest they make. In short, still too much pick "clack" noise due to thickness of the pick and the hardness/density of the material. "clack" or "chirp" are common complaints of thicker picks on acoustic. BC doesn't chirp, but it definitely clacks on light strumming, it's significant through a nice PA, and noticeable even as I'm singing so it's not acceptable for my needs. On electric, the standard tip shape, the material & the smooth bezel lack bite and attack that I prefer on electric. BC makes a Jazz3-type pointy pick, but it's even thicker. If BC made a thinner 70mm-ish pick in a Jazz3 XL shape, I'd come back, but they don't, and they can't go thinner due to limitations of the BC material. For now I'm going with Dunlop Primetone .73mm Jazz3 XL as a durable alternative to the 451s I've been using, and the sharper tip is great for electric. I'll keep an eye on BC for the day when their material science improves enough to do a thinner pick. Till then I'll be elsewhere.

    The best there is!

Posted by Jim Greene on 28th Aug 2023

So, the TD-35 I had slipped out of my pocket in an Uber. I told myself when I bought it, that if I lost it I wouldn't replace it. But after a week without it, I caved and ordered a new one. I keep the new one in my wallet! These puppies aren't cheap. Once you try these you will never be satisfied with anything else! I do have a Casein pick that is a distant 2nd to Blue Chip but just not quite the same. If you have a serious guitar you want these picks!

    Excellent!

Posted by Bill Long on 16th Aug 2023

After using a variety trying a variety of materials that did not quite give me the sound I like and also mostly wore out and a really thick casein pick, I found the TD35 Blue Chip pick. I have been using them for a couple of years and they are excellent! They stick to my fingers, don't wear our, and the tone is fabulous.
